Atishi Defends Government's Efforts as Heavy Rains Drown Delhi in Waterlogging Woes

A fresh bout of heavy rainfall lashed parts of Delhi on June 28. Though a relief from heat, the rain also brought other challenges to the forefront. Various regions of Delhi-NCR were met with intense waterlogging. Few hours of rain sparked a political showdown between BJP and ruling AAP. Delhi BJP councillor Ravinder Negi was seen rowing an inflatable boat on a flooded street. Amid this, Delhi PWD Minister Atishi addressed concerns about the government's handling of the situation. She stated that excessive rainfall beyond the capacity of Delhi's drains caused waterlogging.
