This resemblance has sparked discussions, especially since Shahid Kapoor played the lead role in Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda's Arjun Reddy, where both actors shared rugged looks in their respective versions.

The producers of VD12, Sithara Entertainments, led by Naga Vamsi, addressed the issue of leaks in a note shared on X. First, they mentioned their gratitude towards the fans' excitement and enthusiasm for the film. The team further revealed that they have completed 60% of the shoot and are currently filming in Sri Lanka, promising an unforgettable theatrical experience.

They also mentioned their intention to reveal Vijay's look from the film at the right moment. For the past six months, the team have kept details under wraps, aiming for a striking official unveiling. The producers even requested fans to avoid sharing any leaks and to wait for the official announcement, which is coming very soon. VD12 is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame.
