Srikanth OTT Release: Rajkummar Rao Starrer Locks A Release Date, Biopic To Premiere On Netflix
The biopic is based on Srikanth, who was visually impaired. It chronicles his struggles and achievements despite adverse situations.
Rajkummar Rao starrer Srikanth was well received by the audience when it hit the theatres on May 10 on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya. The actor received rave reviews for his performance in the movie as visually impaired. Despite the positive reviews, the movie emerged as a modest commercial success. Now, two months after the release, the biographical drama based on the life of Srikanth Bolla is all set to make its debut on OTT.
When and where will Srikanth release on OTT?
Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, the movie is set to premiere on Netflix on July 5 (Friday). The official Instagram page of Netflix shared the poster and wrote, "Witness a vision that defied limitations. Srikanth, the extraordinary true story, arriving tomorrow on Netflix!"
The biopic chronicles the struggles of Srikanth, who was born visually impaired in Seetharamapuram village in Machilipatnam, in then undivided Andhra Pradesh, India. The film demonstrates Srikanth's achievements despite adverse situations. The movie also starred, Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles.
Srikanth's box office report
In the opening weekend, the movie earned ₹11.95 net crore in India. Thanks to positive word-of-mouth, the movie enjoyed the box office run till June 17. In total, the movie grossed ₹59.58 crore in India and ₹3.34 crore internationally, for a total worldwide gross of ₹62.92 crore.
What's next for Rajkummar Rao?
The actor is currently gearing up for the release of his third movie of 2024 - Stree 2, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. The movie will continue from where it left off and will mark the return of Shraddha to Rajkummar's town. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the comedy horror drama is slated to hit the theatres on August 15, clashing with two other movies - Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa.
