Renukaswamy was allegedly murdered by Darshan and his 16 associates. Police investigation in the matter have revealed chilling details.
47-year-old Kannada actor Darshan, his close friend Pavithra Gowda and 16 of his associates have been arrested for the murder of Renukaswamy, whose body was found near a storm-water drain with multiple injury marks on June 9.
Renukaswamy, a resident of district headquarters town of Chitradurga, a fan of Darshan, had allegedly commented on the social media account of Gowda, a small-time actress, accusing her of creating a rift between the actor and his wife. As the police investigation in the matter is underway, actor-turned-politician Divya Spandana aka Ramya reacted to Darshan's arrest in connection with the murder case.
Divya Spandana lauds swift police action in the matter
In a post on Instagram, Divya Spandana shared that "no one is above the law". "No one should take law in to their hands. You don't go around beating up people and killing them. A simple complaint would suffice whether you believe justice will be served or not," she wrote.
Lauding police action in the case, she added, "A word of appreciation and respect for the police officers discharging their duties. It's a thankless job. And they're doing their best. I truly hope they don't succumb to pressure from political parties and reinstate the faith of the people in law and justice." Divya ended the post with the hashtags 'Justice for Renukaswamy'.
Chilling details emerge in Renukaswamy murder case
According to the initial police investigation, Renukaswamy was allegedly beaten up with a belt, sticks and then thrown against a wall resulting in his death. After the killing, his body was dumped in a storm-water drain in Kamakshipalya area of Bengaluru. A food delivery boy who noticed stray dogs eating a human body alerted the police.
