Stree 2 Actor Rajkummar Rao Says The Sequel Is 'Bigger, Adventurous, More Thrilling' Than Original

Stree 2: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor will share screen space again in the horror comedy movie. The film will hit the big screen on August 15 in a three-way clash with Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. Ahead of the release, the cast of the movie travelled to Lucknow for a pre-release event where they teased the big scale of Stree 2 which is a sequel to the 2018 hit film. 

Rajkummar Rao says Stree 2 is funnier than the original 

During the pre-release event of the film Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor answered several questions posed by the media personnel. The actors spoke about their characters in the movie and how the sequel will follow the story set up in the first part of the horror comedy. Speaking to IANS, the cast assured that the audience, “will get to see the same honesty and love in the film".

Speaking at the event, Rajkummar Rao shared, “You will get to see more comedy than in Stree. You've probably seen it in the trailer... It is very funny. It’s the same world and the same people.” He added, "It features a song by our brother Pawan that has become a bumper hit everywhere. There is a lot of comedy and a bit of horror. Stree received so much love from people that we decided to expand the world. So, we made it a little more bigger, adventurous, and thrilling."

In the same conversation, Shraddha was asked about her expectations from the film. The actress replied, “Main yeh chahati hun ki Stree 2 film ko bahut zyada pyaar mile kiyunki woh manoranjan mila hai logon ko pahele part se (I want Stree 2 to receive a lot of love because the first part provided so much entertainment to people. I want families to enjoy the film together)." 

Stree 2 producer addresses the 3-way clash of the film with Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein 

Stree 2 producer Jyoti Deshpande along with the cast and crew attended the trailer launch of the movie on July 18. Speaking at the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai the producer shared, “There are only 52 weeks in a year. We don’t release films during Hindu rituals (Shradh), IPL, Ramdan, and if some Khan film is releasing or a big South Indian film is releasing that leaves us with only 20 weeks. The clash is bound to happen. So it’s survival of the fittest, the jungle law,” 

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the sequel of the highly appreciated 2017 horror-comedy and 5th part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee among others.
