Ulajh, starring Janhvi Kapoor, has hit the theatres today, August 2. Ahead of the release, the makers held a special screening for all the celebs. During the event, an actor walked the red carpet and looked unrecognizable. He has acted in movies such as Tum Bin, Khwahish, LOC Kargil and more. However, for years he has stayed away from the public eye.

Tum Bin actor makes a rare appearance at Ulajh premiere
He was not just an actor, but also a screenwriter and producer. Unable to guess, whom are we talking about, well it is Himanshu Malik. Yes, the former actor who played the role of Abhigyan, a wealthy Canadian industrialist in the 2001 romance Tum Bin and having around 17 liplock scenes with her co-star Mallika Sherawat in Khwahish. He started his career by featuring in music videos such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Afreen Afreen with Lisa Ray and Sonu Nigam's Deewane Hoke Hum with Sandali Sinha. He made his debut in Bollywood with Mira Nair's Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996) but got his big break from Tum Bin.
Why did Himanshu Malik quit acting?
The former actor was last seen in the 2022 movie Chitrakut in which he also served as director and producer. Since then, he has been away from the big screens and was never seen at the media event hosted by celebs. During a media event, Himanshu recalled a shocking incident when a big publication asked him to fake an affair, to boost his career. Opening up about his decision to quit acting, he said that he didn't desire to be a "typical Bollywood hero". He wanted to do something meaningful with his life.
