PR Sreejesh Emerges Hero With An Epic Last Minute Save To Ensure India's Historic Win vs Australia

Indian Men's Hockey team created history at Paris Olympics as they beat Australia 3-2 in their final group stage fixture at Paris Olympics. This marked the first time Indian men's team beat Australia in Olympics since 1972, snapping a 52 year winning streak. 

It was a fantastic team effort by the Indian side to win against the powerhouse Kookaburras. However, there was one key hero for India, the legend who is set to retire for India post Paris games - PR Sreejesh. 

PR Sreejesh The Hero In India's Historic Win

India's goalkeeping wall PR Sreejesh was upto the task once again for India as he pulled off 5-6 spectacular saves to preserve India's lead against Australia. 

However, the biggest moment from Sreejesh arrived in the dying seconds when India were hanging on to the 3-2 lead and in the dying seconds he stepped out and prevented the last Kookaburra attack.

That wasn't the best of it as well because prior to that PR Sreejesh pulled off an unbelievable save for India to keep them ahead by 3-2.

"I am playing with fourth generation in this team. Some were not even born when I started playing hockey. A few years back, players wanted to do it for Dhanraj Pillay. I am Dhanraj for this generation, they want to do it for me, what more you can you ask for," said PR Sreejesh on his performance. 

India will be feeling really well about their medal hopes for Paris Olympics after advancing into the Quarterfinals and beating a tough opponent like Australia.
