Breaking: Lakshya Sen One Win Away From Medal At Paris Olympics, Enters Semi-Finals In Men's Singles

Lakshya Sen has stormed into the Semi-Finals of Paris Olympics with a win over Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien-Chen in three sets in the Quarterfinal. Lakshya Sen is now only one win away from winning a medal for India in his first ever Olympics.  

Lakshya Sen beat Chou 19-21, 21-15, 21-12 to become the first Indian male athlete to qualify for the Semi-Finals in Men's Singles Badminton. 

How Lakshya Sen made it to his first Semi-Finals

Lakshya Sen started slow in the first set against Chou Tien-chen as he trailed 5-2. But Sen showed some excellent resilience to peg back into the contest and made it an edge to edge affair. Chou only just edged Sen entering into the break only just trailed 11-9. 

However, it felt like Chou would pull away with the first set as he led 15-12 at one stage. But Sen simply would not give up and managed to win amazing rally to peg the set back but Chou pulled away once again and narrowly took the first set 21-19.

In the second set, Lakshya Sen roared back as he looked composed and confident. He dominated the latter stage and stormed to a 21-15 victory over Chou to take the match to the third and final deciding set. 

In the final game, Lakshya Sen was simply unstoppable as he raced to a lead and maintained it throughout. He simply dismantled Chou and won the final game 21-12 to advance into the Semi-Finals.
