Mumbai: A hit-and-run case came to light on Sunday, June 7 from the Worli area of Mumbai, where a speeding BMW rammed into a bike which resulted in the death of a pillion rider.

According to sources, a fisherman and his wife were on the bike when this mishap took place at 5:30 in the morning near the Atria Mall.

The couple, who lived in the Worli Koliwada area, was returning after buying fish from the Sassoon Dock early morning when the car rammed into their bike, police said.

Police sources have revealed that the luxurious car was being driven by a 24-year-old man, identified as Mihir Shah, son of a senior Shiv Sena leader, Rajesh Shah, who was suspected to be drunk at the time of the accident.

Following the incident, Mihir fled the scene without helping the injured couple and is currently on the run.

The couple was then rushed to the hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries, while the husband was being treated in the hospital.

As per reports, Rajesh and his driver are currently in police custody and a case has been registered. Meanwhile, police continue to search for Mihir.

This comes weeks after the horrifying Pune Porsche case came to light when a 17-year-old rich brat rammed the luxury car into two techies.
