Samantha Ruth Prabhu is taking each step at a time and enjoying her life to the fullest since she was diagnosed with myositis in 2022. Since then, the actress has been focusing on her health and taking up a few projects. However, there are other reasons why the actress is doing fewer movies than her earlier trajectory. In a recent interview, she talked about her career and personal journey in depth.
Why Samantha Ruth Prabhu is taking up fewer projects?
In an interview with Elle, the actress shared that she is proud of the women in the entertainment industry, who are demanding their space. She is glad to be part of this change and asking for better roles and fully-fledged characters. Addressing doing fewer movies, she said, "I’ve always felt that it is better to do fewer films with substance than a bunch without. I believe breaking stereotypes is very important, so I was particular about not doing the same thing; the audience would get bored."
When asked what keeps her excited on set even after being part of the entertainment industry for around 24 years now. To this, Samantha replied that she still "feels like a newcomer" and has so much to learn. That's the magic of films per Samantha because one has to step into a different character and world with each script. She concluded by saying that the thought of it is "terrifying and so, so exciting".
What's next for Samantha Ruth Prabhu?
The actress, last seen in Kushi (2023), will be next seen in the web show Citadel: Honey Bunny, alongside Varun Dhawan. The series, which serves as an Indian version of the American TV series Citadel, is currently in the post-production stage. The series also stars Sikandar Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem and Emma Canning, in pivotal roles.
