Kamal Haasan Swiftly Moves Past Indian 2 Failure, Dubs For Mani Ratnam's Thug Life

Kamal Hassan’s latest movie Indian 2 has emerged as a flop at the global box office. Indian 2 is the sequel to the hugely successful 1996 Tamil-language film Indian, which featured a retired freedom fighter battling corruption in India. Although Indian 2 continues the story related to the first one, it has failed to impress audiences.

Poor direction and a weak script contributed to its lack of success. Additionally, the release of Kalki 2898 AD around the same time overshadowed Indian 2, as the former performed well at the box office. Despite this setback, Kamal Hassan has moved on and is not letting the failure affect him.

In the recent development, Kamal Haasan has moved past the failure of Indian 2 and was seen working on his new film Thug Life. This highly anticipated movie brings Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam back together after their 1987 classic Nayakan. Thug Life is produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, Mahendran, and Siva Ananth under the banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies, with Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies presenting the film.

Apart from Kamal Haasan and STR, Thug Life also features Ali Fazal, Trisha Krishnan, Nassar, Abirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Vaiyapuri in important roles.

Kamal Haasan starts dubbing for Thug Life

Kamal Haasan has begun dubbing for Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, with the team sharing a video of his entrance into the studio. The film is progressing quickly, and Silambarasan has also started dubbing for his portions. 

The beautifully shot announcement video about dubbing features Kamal Haasan as Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker, echoing his iconic character Sakthivel Naicker from Nayakan. Thug Life is eagerly awaited and is expected to be released later this year, although an official release date has not yet been announced.
