Manjummel Boys To Aavesham, Highest-Grossing Malayalam Films Of 2024

Malayalam cinema has been on a roll in the first half of 2024. While other industries are struggling to get a clean hit, Malayalam movies are turning out to be not just back-to-back hits, but are also ruling the OTT space after their theatrical run. From Mammootty's Bramayugam and Turbo to Fahadh Faasil's Aavesham, the success ration of Malayalam movies has been overwhelming this year. Manjummel Boys

The survival thriller set in Guna Caves in Kodaikanal is based on a true story. The film directed by Chidambaram not only set the Kerala box office on fire but performed well in Tamil and Telugu states. On OTT, the other versions of the film lapped up viewers. According to Sacnilk, Manjummel Boys collected ₹141.61 crore in India.

Aavesham

Fahadh Faasil starrer comedy entertainer Aavesham, in which FaFaa plays the role of a self-styled gangster, tickled the funny bones of the audiences and collected ₹85.15 crore in India. It is also doing well on streaming platform Prime Video. 

The Goat Life

Prithviraj Sukumaran brings to life the ordeal of a Malayali migrant Najeeb in Blessy's Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life. The movie did exceeding well in India and abroad, collecting ₹85.01 crore in India, according to Sacnilk.

Premalu

Rom com Premalu starring Mamitha Baiju and Naslen Gafoor charmed the audience with its simple and entertaining storyline. The film collected ₹75.37 crore in India, with its collections coming in from Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil versions.

Varshangalkku Shesham

Malayalam movie Varshangalkku Shesham is directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan and produced by Merryland Cinemas. It stars Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Neeta Pillai and Nivin Pauly in key roles. It became a sleeper hit, minting ₹38.99 crore in India in all languages.

Apart from these titles, Bramayugam, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, Turbo and Abraham Ozler have also emerged as box office hits.
