BTS' RM Pens Emotional Letter For ARMYs Amid Ongoing Military Enlistment

BTS’ Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, shared an emotional note with ARMY on Weverse. In his post, RM opened up about his military life, the joy of reuniting with his bandmates after a long time, and expressed gratitude to ARMY for their continued support and love. He also posted additional pictures from BTS Festa 2024, exciting fans everywhere.

RM's note for ARMYs

In his message, RM reflected on his recent release, Right Place Wrong Person, which came out three weeks ago. He wrote, “This is my first work where I haven't been able to share my thoughts in person. There's a lot I want to say, but it's all written in the album... This is just an album in which I struggled to be honest with myself. I hope you read it over and over again for a long time (sic).”

RM on Jin's discharge from military

He also shared his feelings about Jin’s recent discharge from the military, stating, “Three days ago, Jin finally got discharged from the military. I brought a saxophone to play for fun, but in reality, I had mixed feelings. I wonder if it would have been very lonely and difficult to go first... what would it have been like? One year and six months is fair to everyone here... It's been a while since I've been out, and as expected, time passes differently outside. Gravity seems to be a bit different... Everyone is doing well regardless of my absence. It's going well. It felt like a waste of time, but more than anything, it was nice to be able to get together with all the members for the first time in a long time, have a drink, and talk openly (even though more than half of it was about the military...lol). I think it’s been almost ten months. Why did I miss these people so much? I often called them and asked how they were doing.”

RM continued, “Jin always used to talk about it. I miss the members so much. I bet you do too. Now that I am scattered and living somewhere in Gangwon-do, I understand deeply. When I actually saw him face to face and talked to him, I realized again the things that never change, the place I had to return to, and what kind of person I was. It was a meaningful and precious time for all of us.”

He concluded his heartfelt note by pondering the future, “What kind of faces will everyone have on their 12th anniversary next year? I miss it and I miss drawing it again. It's already been eleven years. It's just another year to look forward to. First, I would like to ask Jin and Hobi, who are in your arms, to take care of the rest. I just realized that many people still haven't forgotten us and are waiting for us and loving us. As always, I will just think of the members and get through each day well. i love you. Thank you. Looking forward to early summer next year (sic).”

When will BTS return?

BTS is expected to resume their band activities in 2025, with RM hinting at this in his note. The BTS Festa 2024 marked the 11th anniversary of the boy band, with all members taking a break from their military duties to celebrate, and Jin having recently been discharged.
