Diljit mired in non-payment controversy

According to a post shared by Rajat Batta, who is an entrepreneur and runs several professional dance groups, the dancers in Diljit's tour remain unpaid. In a series of posts, Batta alleged that all of the desi dancers in Diljit's shows were not paid and were expected to perform for free. A part of his post read, "Diljit, we are very happy for your success but your dancers should have been paid and been a part of the production budget."

Netizens share their personal experiences

The post shared by Rajat Batta was quickly flooded with comments, with several people alleging that they have faced similar situations in the past. "If you don’t respect your own work, then nobody will. The budget for these shows is literally in the millions. Give your head a shake next time you get such an opportunity. “Exposure” doesn’t pay your bills," read a comment.

Another social media user wrote, "When he (Diljit) was not as famous, we were asked to perform with him for free in the UK and as much as I would have loved the opportunity for my company and dancers, I said no out of principal."

Diljit is yet to comment in the matter.
