The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2024 to fill various Group 'B' and Group 'C' posts across different ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. There are a total of 17727 vacancies for the graduate level exam. Aspirants who wish to apply for the SSC CGL Exam 2024 can check the pay scale, eligibility criteria, important dates and exam pattern here. 

SSC CGL Exam Notification 2024 Out

 Important Dates:

- Online Application Submission: June 24, 2024, to July 24, 2024
- Last Date for Online Applications: July 24, 2024 (23:00)
- Last Date for Online Fee Payment: July 25, 2024 (23:00)
- Application Form Correction Window: August 10-11, 2024 (23:00)
- Tentative Tier-I Exam Date: September-October 2024
- Tentative Tier-II Exam Date: December 2024

 Pay Scales and Eligibility: 

Pay Level-7 (₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400):

- Assistant Section Officer: Central Secretariat Service, Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of External Affairs, AFHQ, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Other Ministries/Departments (Age: 18-30 years)
- Inspector of Income Tax: CBDT (Age: 18-30 years)
- Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner): CBIC (Age: 18-30 years)
- Assistant Enforcement Officer: Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue (Age: 18-30 years)
- Sub Inspector: Central Bureau of Investigation (Age: 20-30 years)
- Inspector Posts: Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications (Age: 18-30 years)
- Inspector: Central Bureau of Narcotics, Ministry of Finance (Age: 18-30 years)

Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400):


- Assistant/Assistant Section Officer: Other Ministries/Departments (Age: 18-30 years)
- Executive Assistant: CBIC (Age: 18-30 years)
- Research Assistant: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) (Age: 18-30 years)
- Divisional Accountant: Offices under C&AG (Age: 18-30 years)
- Sub Inspector: National Investigation Agency (NIA) (Age: 18-30 years)
- Sub-Inspector/Junior Intelligence Officer: Narcotics Control Bureau (MHA) (Age: 18-30 years)
- Junior Statistical Officer: Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (Age: 18-32 years)

Pay Level-5 (₹29,200 to ₹92,300):

- Auditor: Offices under C&AG, CGDA, and Other Ministries/Departments (Age: 18-27 years)
- Accountant/Junior Accountant: Offices under C&AG, Controller General of Accounts, Other Ministries/Departments (Age: 18-27 years)

Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 to ₹81,100):

- Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant: Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications (Age: 18-27 years)
- Senior Secretariat Assistant/Upper Division Clerks: Central Government Offices/Ministries (Age: 18-27 years)
- Senior Administrative Assistant: Military Engineering Services, Ministry of Defence (Age: 18-27 years)
- Tax Assistant: CBDT, CBIC (Age: 18-27 years)
- Sub-Inspector: Central Bureau of Narcotics, Ministry of Finance (Age: 18-27 years)

 SSC CGL Exam: Age Limit

- 18-27 years: Born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2006
- 20-30 years: Born between August 2, 1994, and August 1, 2004
- 18-30 years: Born between August 2, 1994, and August 1, 2006
- 18-32 years: Born between August 2, 1992, and August 1, 2006

 SSC CGL Exam Pattern:

Tier-I Examination:
- Subjects: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension
- Questions: 25 per subject (Total 100 questions)
- Marks: 50 per subject (Total 200 marks)
- Duration: 1 hour (1 hour 20 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe)

Tier-II Examination:
- Paper-I:
 - Session-I:
   - Section-I: Mathematical Abilities (30 questions), Reasoning and General Intelligence (30 questions)
   - Section-II: English Language and Comprehension (45 questions), General Awareness (25 questions)
   - Section-III: Computer Knowledge Module (20 questions)
 - Session-II:
   - Section-III: Data Entry Speed Test Module (One Data Entry Task)

- Paper-II (Statistics): 100 questions
 - Duration: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe)

How to apply for SSC CGL Exam 2024 

Candidates can apply online through the SSC official website within the specified dates. The tentative vacancies for the exam are approximately 17,727, subject to final determination.

  • on ‘Apply’ tab
  • Register yourself by providing the required information 
  • Log in using your credentials 
  • Fill out the form 
  • Upload the required document
  • your photo online in the given section
  • Upload the same and pay the application fee
  • Carefully check everything and submit your form.
